I got nothing

I am in a blogging slump.

And it isn't because my life feels particularly boring.

My life has been interesting since returning to New York: seeing old friends from high school, going to dinner with fabulous people, playing softball on warm summer Sunday evenings (my team is really nice to me despite the fact that I am a disaster on the field), went to the opera in Central Park and watched a movie under the stars and the Brooklyn Bridge last week. Visited friends in Princeton and followed the "bridge and tunnel people" back to New York on a Saturday night (I have never seen so many pairs of five-inch heals in my life). Had a lovely time with my friend Tracy who was visiting from Chad (yes, THE Chad. THE Chad where less than 1% of the population has access to electricity and was deemed the most corrupt country in the world a few years ago), and got to talk to Cheryl, my dear friend from Zambia on the phone the other night.

So, what is wrong with me? Plagued by fantastic experiences and plagued by writer's block.

Maybe it is because life feels jumbled. You ever feel like this? Jumbled. Mixed-up. A little unclear. Fabulous and simultaneously a little un-fabulous.

I have just two more months left in New York and although there are two viable job opportunities on the table, I still feel a little .... mmmm.... jumbled.

Keep writing - I love your writing even when you feel like you have nothin'.

I know about the jumble.

Sometimes, I feel like I want everything - even the fabulous stuff - to just stop for a minute. I want all of the people to stop talking, and the music to stop playing, and the traffic to clear, and the internet to be deleted, and the plans to be erased.

It's the only way I can breathe.

Anyway, I think you are wonderful, and I'm glad that your life is full of good things, and I'm sending you mental margaritas. :)

I feel that way sometimes too...and the the blog become a chore instead of something I I wait it out until I feel like adding something again. Just a little up and down in everything, right? Love the pic of you and Garrett! How fun to see him! Gosh, and you are seriously busy, busy!

... and that it right where God wants you. Isn't that frustrating? That you're supposed to be in the midst of a jumble? Argh. And if a blog is really your "web log" then it is fully up to you when and what you write about. I have to remind myself that when I'm pressuring myself: "It's been a SOMETHING darn it."

Would love to hear more about the job opportunities when you get a chance.

I'm so glad that you and Garrett got together. He thinks the world of you and I might be more of a fan than he is.

Hey Carmie,

Welcome to my world sister! I am all about jumble and practically un-fabulous most of the time. If you don't believe me, just ask me. Most of the "I got nothing" from you is better than my stories. You even make nothing interesting. Kind of like Seinfeld. A show about nothing.

Anywho, sorry to bend your ear so much. Love you muchly and miss you heaps.

Sometimes I want to blog "profiles" of all the people I like. I know some good ones. BTW, EVERY person that commented on this blog posting would make my "Interesting Profile" list. But I would come up with some dazzling name to match your dazzling-ness.

And Brett? Talk my ear off all you want.

The pic in the middle reminds me to the Walhalla in Bavaria, a greek style-temple from King Ludwig I. - at first I thought it was there !
It remembers me to an Foto-session at 1987, 31.December.
Carmen, thanks for your posting to me, I´ve seen it only now !!

Greetings from Germany, Norbert

The title " I got nothing" reminds me to my blog about nichts - about nothing.
It´s hard for me to understand the filigree meanings in english ...
but maybe it´s enough, to feel the site.
