I had never been anywhere tropical in my life, so my trip to the Kenyan coast felt like pure extravagance. I spent a week in Malindi, Kenya where I met with about 40 Presbyterians from the U.S. who are working all over Eastern and Southern Africa. Impressive people. Physicians, health educators, relief workers, teachers, and agricultural specialists gathered to share experiences and discuss the changing demographics of world Christianity.I've never swam in water so clear and warm and beautiful in my life. The most taxing part of the trip was avoiding eels and sand sharks. Rough life, I know.
